Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS)
Our curriculum offers a balance of both adult-led and child-initiated activities stemming from the children’s interests.
It follows each child’s individual progress as they develop at their own pace through the areas of the curriculum. These include:
Communication and Language
Personal, Social and Emotional Development
Understanding the World
Expressive Arts and Design
Principles of Early Years Learning
Our aim is to ensure that every child reaches their full potential in learning and exploring the world around them and develop a strong sense of self. We have learnt that best Early Years practice is a combination of the great contributions about child development, life, the world and family.
‘Play is the highest expression of human development in childhood for it alone is the free expression of what is in a child’s soul’ – Friedrich Frobel
‘The goal of early childhood education should be to activate the child’s own natural desire to learn.’ – Maria Montessori
‘The principle goal of education in the schools should be creating men and women who are capable of doing new things, not simply repeating what other generations have done.’ – Jean Piaget
‘We do not describe the world we see, we see the world we can describe.’ – Rene Descartes
‘By giving our students practice in talking with others, we give them frames for thinking on their own.’ – Lev S. Vygotsky
